China

2004 China Missions TripDates: June 20 – August 8 — Work/Evangelism

Experience an unforgettable summer in the world’s most populous country and one of the most ancient civilizations—China! In addition to sharing the love of Christ, your presence will be an encouragement to those who tirelessly serve in this spiritually-needy country.

Following Boot Camp training, you will bus to the Orlando International Airport and board a flight to TorontoOntarioCanada. From Toronto, your connecting flight takes you over western Canada, the Gulf of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands before arriving in BeijingChina.  A 12-hour bus ride will take you through bustling cities and remote villages to your project site about an hour from Taiyuan City in the Shanxi province.

Your project will be to continue renovations on newly purchased property next to the Joy In The Journey Camp of Evergreen Ministries. Housing will be in dorms with showers available. There will be many opportunities to interact with the campers who come for the week-long English camps. You will share the love of Christ through friendship evangelism with these young people who will want to spend time with you practicing their English. You will also enjoy trying some of the authentic Chinese food that the campers will be eating.

While in China, you will take an overnight train to Xian where you will visit the site of the famous Terra Cotta Warriors which are a collection of life-size statues depicting the armies of the first Emperor of China. There will be an opportunity to practice your bartering skills while buying souvenirs such as t-shirts, swords, fans, and authentic Chinese tea before boarding the overnight train for your trip back to the camp.

Following your project time, you will take the “fast train” (three-hour trip) back to Beijing where you will stay in a youth hostel and have the opportunity to visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven.

Estimated Project Expense: $4990 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

yeah sorry i noticed that yesterday but im very interested in the mongolia trip, but again could a non religious person go on this trip and if not could you point me to another organization that does these sorts of things?

    1. Beth Kostner

Ryan, We do not screen the team members. However, our primary purpose is to spread the Gospel of Christ wherever we go. We do not require you to be religious, but you will be required to participate in all aspects of our program including Bible memory, Bible studies, private devotions, etc.

If I were to send something to someone for commissioning, how would I do that? do I have to specify that it is for Commissioning? or do they just give packages out at commissioning. I went last year, and im trying to send something to a former teammate. I just don remember how its done. thanks!

    1. Beth Kostner

Natalie, Make sure to mark it as Commissioning so that it doesn’t go over until after the service.
