Ecuador 2012

2010 Ecuador Missions TripDates: June 20 – August 8 — Work/Evangelism

Experience the breathtaking view of snow-capped Andes Mountains as you step outside your door each morning. Work for the Lord this summer in the shadow of the mighty Mt. Cotopaxi, the world’s highest active volcano. Following Boot Camp you travel to

Orlando International Airport for a flight across the Caribbean Sea and Honduras to San SalvadorEl Salvador. A connecting flight takes you across Costa Rica, the Panama Canal and the Pacific Ocean to LimaPeru before arriving in Quito, the capital city of Ecuador.

From Quito you bus past majestic scenery to the Teen Missions in Ecuador BiBle, Missionary & Work Training Center.

The base is an old Spanish-style ranch with a barn, house and buildings surrounding a courtyard. Your project is to upgrade the buildings and repair the road to the base. Housing is in dorms with hot showers available. Bring winter clothing for cold days and nights.

During free time you might enjoy a hike up the mountains surrounding the property or have your picture taken with Mt. Cotopaxi in the background. On weekends, you can visit churches in Latacunga and use puppets, songs and testimonies to share the love of Christ. The local Indians will visit the base and you can barter for their goods.

On sightseeing day you will visit Mitad del Mundo, where you can stand astride the Equator, one foot in the Northern and one foot in the Southern Hemispheres. Enjoy bartering in the local market for llama wool clothing and blankets, jewelry, dolls, leather goods and paintings.

Estimated Project Expense: $3490 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

What about skirt slips? We have a skirt that is thick and lined. Black. Is there a need for a slip?

    1. Beth Kostner

Christy, Make sure you can’t see through it in the sunlight and it should be fine.
