Dear Friends and Family,
Wow! God is so good! We have been so blessed these past few months. It has been so exciting here at the base in Ecuador. In June we were gearing up for the American adult team from Georgia to come. They were a team of seven awesome friends who came to work on the staff apartment. They laid tile in two rooms, built a temporary roof over the stairs to keep out the rain, built a wall, and ran a Vacation Bible School at the local school. Our Bible School students worked alongside the team and the students are still talking about their new friends from Georgia.
Shortly after the adult team left, the Teen Missions team of 20 arrived. Amazing doesn’t even begin to describe this team! They worked so hard and were such a huge blessing. One of the leader’s kids was Annabelle, who had attended Mustard Seeds camp with Isabella in 2008. The two of them were inseparable all month long. Isabella was very happy! The team helped with more of the tiling, and built the walls for the second floor. They also built a retention wall, shared at three local churches, and ministered to children at the park. While all of this was going on, the Ecuador Boot Camp began, and the team helped judge the obstacle course. They got to work alongside the Ecuador Boot Camp leaders and made some new friends. The Ecuador Boot Camp had 110 participants on six teams. Allie took on, and thoroughly enjoyed, the role of Miss Piggy.
We are looking forward to the start of the new trimester at the Bible school. Two new students are coming, giving us a total of ten. I will be teaching Geography and Allie will be teaching English as a second Language (ESL), to the students. Allie will also be teaching English in the church again.
Austin is enjoying opportunities to minister with a local church. He’s making good progress with his Spanish, and is praying about a mission trip to Africa next summer. Isabella loves her new room, chats with her friends in Spanish, and even served as our translator the day our van broke down and I had to leave to get the mechanic.
Timothy is attending High School at the Ozark Technical College, and enjoying his computer classes. Nicole is enjoying her new house and expecting a new brother or sister for Sammy in March of next year. Amanda is doing well and Arabella is starting school, she’s not a baby anymore! Our grandson Austin, who we call Baby Austin, is no longer a baby either…he just turned six! Time sure does fly! We are looking forward to seeing all our kids and grandchildren when we get back to the States.
The women’s group from Calvary Chapel in Maryland blessed our Bible School girls by sending them a care box. They made prayer shawls and personalized prayer journals for each of the girls. Allie enjoyed handing them out and sharing with the girls the love of people from so many miles away. Thank you Calvary Chapel Women’s Group. You were such a blessing!
It is your prayers that enable us to keep serving the Lord in this beautiful place. We could not do this without your love, prayers and support. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Please let us know how we can pray for you as well. May the Lord bless you bountifully!
Prayer Requests:
Izzy’s & Austin’s schooling and Spanish - Allie’s Spanish – More staff for the base – Good health for all – That we will recognize and follow God’s leading – Wisdom in the management of family and ministry finances – Unity among the students
