Cameroon/Ethiopia

Cameroon Mission Trip

Have you ever walked to school in harsh conditions without a pair of shoes? Did you know that there are hundreds of children in Cameroon who make that kind of journey every day?

You can make it possible for these children to have shoes for school, as well as all year round. Following training at the Lord’s BootCamp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. Your next flight crosses the Atlantic Ocean, Europe, the Mediterranean Sea and then over the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, arriving the next morning in Douala, Cameroon. From Douala, your team will bus 225 miles north to the Teen Missions in Cameroon base in Nsongwa, located near Bamenda.

After taking a few days to buy supplies and sort out the shoes, you will then head out to your first AIDS Orphans Rescue Unit (AORU).You will visit at least two AORU locations to wash children’s feet and help them put on a clean pair of socks and new shoes.

You will also assist the AORU facilitators with their daily medical treatments. The medical needs are great in these areas, as the children often have severe wounds, worms in their feet and knees, skin infections and common childhood illnesses. You will enjoy teaching phonics and Sunday School lessons, as well as playing soccer and other games with the orphans at the AORU. There will be ample opportunities to proclaim the Gospel through puppets, drama and singing. You will also have the opportunity to shop for jewelry, drums, spear heads, baskets and wood carvings. Housing is in tents; bathing and laundry are done using a bucket.

Project Expense: $4890 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

What is the dress code for Cameroon? My friend was on Zambia last year and she had to wear long skirts. Do you know if Cameroon is the same? MEGAN, CAMEROON SOMETIMES HAS TO WEAR SKIRTS. IT DEPENDS ON WHERE THE TEAM WILL BE.

Hello Miss Kostner, I wanted to know what city in Florida should we buy our ticket to? Also, I wanted to know if Teenage Missions International can help sponsor someone in anyway? How many spots are left for this trip because I really want to go on it. Thank you and God bless you so much. UCHE, THERE ARE PLENTY OF BOY SPOTS, BUT IT IS CLOSED TO GIRLS. YOU WILL NEED ROUND-TRIP TICKET TO THE ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MCO). WE DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO SPONSOR ANYONE, BUT WE PROVIDE PRAYER CARDS AND LETTERS TO HELP YOU RAISE YOUR SUPPORT.
