Be a part of the first Teen Missions Preteen team to the Dominican Republic to work at the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Camp. Some of you who go on this team may have even had a parent go here as a team member in the 1970′s! After Commissioning you will bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight across the Straits of Florida, Cuba and the Caribbean Sea to Santo Domingo, the capital city. This beautiful country is the historic place where Columbus first landed. From the airport, a bus ride takes you to the CEF Camp where your project will include pouring sidewalks, painting and landscaping jobs at the camp. You will have the opportunity to share with those attending camp, using your skills in music, puppets, dramas and testimonies. A day will be spent swimming in the Caribbean Sea and shopping in Santo Domingo for baskets, straw hats, wood carvings from driftwood, oil paintings and t-shirts.
Project Expense: $2490 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

I have a family member who was selected to attend this mission trip. He has requested donations from multiple friends and other family members, as well as myself. While reading through the material provided, I noticed that the name of the “preteen” going is NOT suppose to be listed on the check. To me, this sounds suspicious. Why is that the case? I do NOT feel comfortable sending a check to an unknown place to me, without at least some way of making sure it gets to the person I intend it to go to. I know I send the donation to him directly, but he then forwards it to you, and the check is to be made out to “Teen Missions”. Where is MY assurance that MY family member gets MY donation? THE MONEY IS DONATED TO TEEN MISSIONS AS THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT TAX DEDUCTIBLE. IF YOU DONATE IT TO THE PERSON OR HAVE HIS NAME LISTED ON THE CHECK, THEN THE IRS WILL NOT COUNT IT AS TAX DEDUCTIBLE. THERE WILL BE A COUPON WITH THE CHECK THAT LISTS YOUR NAME, CHECK NUMBER, ETC. TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RECEIPT AND TO MAKE SURE IT GOES TO THE RIGHT TEAM MEMBER. EVERY CHECK MUST HAVE A COUPON WITH IT. IF YOU HAVE FURTHER QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT.

How many spots are still available for this trip? My son and a friend are interested. Also, I requested info by mail a few months ago and have still received nothing. Thank you…THERE ARE STILL SEVERAL SPOTS LEFT. PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE AND ASK FOR THE MAIL ROOM AND GIVE THEM YOUR ADDRESS AND THEY CAN SEND YOU THE INFORMATION.
