Ecuador – 12016—3

We have only been in Ecuador less than a week and yet it seems like we’ve been here much longer! Ecuador is a beautiful country and full of very nice people. What a blessing it is to be here with this team. After getting settled in at the TMI base, we have a list of projects the missionaries would like to see accomplished during our stay. While we are here, we hope to replace the brick walkways with cement sidewalks because of safety concerns, we will be building a new gate at the main entrance and possibly a gate at the back entrance, we will be finishing a wall on the property that was started several years ago so the chickens can’t escape from their coop, and we will be making two new rooms in the office on the base. There are also about 1000 trees that may be coming in soon that need to be planted on the border of the property. Please pray for our team as they have a lot of work ahead of them and not a lot of time to complete it.
On today (Sunday) we were able to visit a local church in Latacunga. The team shared in several songs (four of them in Spanish) and testimony. It was awesome to see them praise the Lord together! It is also amazing to see how God can use them when they put forth their best effort. After church service the team decided they wanted to try the local fast food restaurant for lunch called Super Pollo Rico. It was very good and very inexpensive as well!
NOTE: Because of internet difficulties, this report did not come through the first time, and was just resent to the office.
Please continue lifting our team in prayer. The cold weather has been quite a shock to some of us, and now we are dealing with several having colds. Thankfully, the team has good attitudes through it all.
Below are testimonies from two of our team members:
“Ecuador is the most beautiful place that I’ve ever been! I really love the closeness of our team and how we grow together at night devos and during the odd jobs and work around the base. My leaders are awesome and they help me grow even when it’s really hard! Pray for us all! I miss you momma!!”   ~Cheyenne Whittier
“We’ve officially been in Ecuador for 4 nights. Things have been going really well. The base is beautiful and the people are super friendly. God has really blessed our team with the opportunity to spend our summer doing worthwhile work. Despite earlier differences, we’ve grown not only closer to each other but in Christ as well. Today we had the chance to give a presentation in a local church. It went really well, and we were welcomed with open arms. The Spanish language is beautiful and I personally am looking forward to learning more of it. Keep our team in your thoughts and prayers! Gracious!” ~Kaelea Hockersmith
