Greetings in the Name of the most High God who is great amongst the nations!
We have finally settled into our
location here in Borel, Haiti. The team is very happy here and I am happy to report we are all in good health. We have started some small projects like cleaning and organizing their conference center and taking care of the grounds. We have also helped in the removal of much rubble from the wall that fell about a week ago so that they could begin the process of rebuilding the wall. Also, we have started a small wall that will help in the construction of a community basketball court. Adjusting to the tropical weather has also been a chore. It is very hot and sticky at night and sleeping can sometimes be difficult. Yesterday we visited a small church and the team did a children’s program, which about 50 kids showed up for, it was a good time and the children really enjoyed the team. The team has also had some chances to minister to some of the children that come every Friday known as Watson’s kids usually around 70 kids, here on the property.
So, as for our remaining days, we will strive to finish the wall project and do more community ministry, such as prayer walks and passing out cold water to local rice farmers. We will also have the opportunity next week to visit one of the local Haitian beach resorts, where we will get the chance to snorkel and swim in the ocean and the pool. The team is super excited for this and as I am told, we will also get to partake in a very nice buffet as part of the resort entry fee. What a treat that is going to be! As for prayer requests, please pray that the Lord will provide more opportunity for solid ministry as Haiti is in great need and some times it is very difficult to break through some of the cultural barriers. Also, pray that the paint will make it to the school in Saint Marc, so we, as a team, can have another tangible project to help reach the community around the school. God is good and we will do whatever he has for us.
May God bless all of you and thank you for your prayers and support we are eternally grateful to all who are behind us in making His Name Great Amongst the nations!
Psalms 127:1
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
