If you win the Piggy Award, you get to swim in the pool the next day. Some swim in the lakes during free time. We can always supply a life jacket if needed.

Something like that, it is just a good idea to be in fairly good physical shape. You will be running the OC, doing physically exerting classes, walking all over bootcamp, etc. and on the field your team (I think) is supposed to work at least 6 hours a day. plus you will have other activities you will be doing.

Yes, try and make sure your in good physical shape not just for the OC, but for when you must work oversees. Over the summer I had to lift heavy sand, rocks etc.. and I really was wanting some good muscles then. And since you don't know if your team will be made up mostly, if not all of girls don't count on boys being there to lift the heavy stuff. Eventually I got stonger, but at first I regretted not having lifted weights before hand. Life would have been so much easier if I had and I would have helped my team out more. This summer I coming prepared!

I totally agree with gkeiffer on this! A few other things you can do to prepare yourself for BC is to be okay with stepping outside your comfort zone. You are kinda thrown in to a bunch of things all at once that are overwhelming. Like meeting the people you will be spending the rest of the summer with, traveling to an unknown area, doing out of the ordinary tasks like bathing using a bucket. So I guess just be prepared to jump in to TMI life! Also, for the OC it isn't a must, but being able to run a mile or 2 would make you less warn out. BC is draining and the last thing you need to be holding you back from getting the full impact of BC is sore muscles.

If you aren't already daily reading your Bible or at the least praying daily, start. If you are then just continue. Learn to start trusting God with everything. BC is more of a mind game than anything else. It is intended to tear you down to your weakest point so you can let God and your team members build you back up. Start preparing for the mental battles, to me that was the hardest part.

Is there anything you can do before going to boot camp that might help? I know it's not going to be easy and I want to be ready. I am so exited that I have the opportunity to go on a mission trip with TMI. Smile
