Missionary News

Peter Nkutu has been involved with Teen Missions in Uganda since it began in 1992.  In 1994 he traveled to the United States to join a Missionaries to America team, a group of young adults from around the world who ministered in nursing homes, schools, prisons and in different communities across the United States.  A year later he returned to Uganda and resumed his work at the Teen Missions base.  Over the years he has coordinated the Uganda Boot Camp, as well as the Boot Camps in Kenya and Tanzania.  He has also lead several North American teams, taught at the Uganda Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center and helped develop many of the ministries at the base.

Alex became involved with Teen Missions in Uganda when she came to Boot Camp in 1997.  It was during Boot Camp that she first accepted Christ as her Savior.  It was also the first time she met Peter, her future husband.  They became friends and though they attended the same church, their relationship did not begin to develop until much later.

In 2003 Peter became very sick while he was preparing for the upcoming Boot Camps.  As he was struggling to get better he felt God laying on his heart that it was time to chose a wife.  His spirit was drawn to Alex and he sought approval from Alex’s mother, according to Ugandan custom.  Her mother approved of their relationship and they were married on March 27, 2004.

Today Peter and Alex serve at the Teen Missions base in Uganda.  Peter is one of the base coordinators and is actively involved in running the Tanzania and Kenya Boot Camp.  They have three beautiful daughters Jonell, Mahoro and Amani.
