Myers’ Snail Mail – Spring 2009
A big “Hello” to our family, friends and former team mates!
Our summer is just months away and we are anticipating great things for our up and coming team to Switzerland. Mike and I sat down the other day to talk about our vision and goals for this summer. Obviously, we would like to complete our project: painting the exterior of a two-story house and its interior walls, renovating a barn and harvesting fruit from an orchard and fields. But more importantly, we want to harvest souls. The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. (Matthew 9:37, 38) Everyday we are reminded of just how much people need to hear about Jesus. Nothing else will fix the problems we face, and things will just get worse the more we forsake Him. Because of this, heavy on our hearts and minds is to be spiritually ready in our personal walks with the Lord so that we can be ready for what awaits us. We recognize that being unprepared will hurt us and hinder our ability to accomplish the tasks set before us. We want to finish the summer and be able to say that we finished everything well and to the best of our ability, that we were content in all things and situations and that we chose to put on the garment of praise everyday, that we were examples to the unbelievers and believers alike and that we were bold in proclaiming the saving Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Join in prayer with us now as we bathe our ministry and team in prayer. Pray that the people of Switzerland and our team mates (some might not know Him!) will have receptive hearts to the message of Jesus Christ as many live in physical comfort but hurt inside and live in spiritual poverty. We want to be able to help them find out Who Jesus Is!
We have some exciting news…no, it’s not a baby #3 announcement. God has provided us with a new home. Through purchasing our fist house, we have understood once again of just how much the Lord wants good things for His children even though we do not deserve any of them. We are so undeserving of His blessings, yet He continues to give them to us anyways. Like everything else we “own”, please pray for opportunities for us to use our home to bless others. Pray also that we would remind ourselves daily to keep a light touch on the things of this earth. Since moving, Kenya and Isabelle’s health have dramatically improved. Isabelle’s chronic congestion has completely gone away and Kenya’s left ear is also a normal, healthy looking preschooler ear now. Her right one is better but not back to normal yet. We ask that you continue to lift her ears up before the Lord. We go back to the doctor in May to have them rechecked.
We want to thank each one of you who have been so faithful to serve beside us as we endeavor to serve the Lord at Teen Missions. The Lord has shown his goodness to us through each of you. In the fall, we look forward to sharing with you exciting testimonies of how God is alive and working today amongst our youth!
