My first impression of Boot Camp was of sweat, mud and mosquitoes. I was a little shocked at how primitive it was and how many rules there are, but as the first days dragged on, I realized why we lived so simply and why there were rules. The primitive living was to wean us from the comforts of home and the rules were in place for our own success at Boot Camp. It seems when all the luxuries of life are taken away, I am humbled and better able to focus on the most important thing in life, which is to grow closer to God. Through spending time in God’s Word, I have gained an appreciation for His love and grace that I will carry to the mission field to share with those who don’t know Him.
