Greetings from rainy Northern Ireland!! The team is staying healthy, into a daily routine of private devotions, library reading, Bible Study, Grubby to Grace & God’s Gentlemen classes, team devotions, and lots of ministry (planting of seeds) at the Fringe Youth Works Centre. The team goes to the youth center every evening for a drop-in time for the local youth. After several nights of just playing games & talking to the Irish youth, the team was finally able to share some Christian songs while Scott presented his testimony on Friday night. It was a turning point for the team in ministry. The friendship evangelism that they had started out with began to present questions. Several of the Irish young people were interested in the sharing time. The weather continues to be cool with rain expected for the next few days. We have begun to adjust to the long hours of daylight. The sun doesn’t set until 10:30 pm and rises at 4:00 am. Everyone is learning to sleep in any kind of situation!! We have been able to get caught up on showers, laundry, and memory verses. The team has been enjoying some good cooking with Saturday night’s menu including a theme of Chinese: complete with chopsticks and Scripture cookies…. The team has enjoyed doing private devotions outside in the cool morning air with a cup of tea in hand. We are anticipating continued ministry at the youth center as well as attending several church services on Sunday. We are looking forward to a bit of shopping and pictures of the countryside as we travel by train to Belfast for a day of fun on Thursday, 7/16. Sunday evening will begin three days of holidays for the country. The festivities begin with a large bonfire on Sunday night, parades and BBQ’s on Monday & Tuesday. The events commemorate Northern Ireland’s independence in time of war. All banks and mail service will be closed through Wednesday.
