Servants of the Most High – Fall 2009
We give thanks to the Lord for He is good, and His love endures forever. We first want to thank you for all of your prayers during the past few months since our last letter. We know that the Lord has surrounded us with His grace and love especially with our new little addition.
Aiden Patrick Deegan was born on June 18th at 7p.m. He was 7 lbs. 12 ounces and measured 20 inches long. He has a full head of dark brown hair and his eyes have turned deep blue. He is truly a joy and such a good baby. We couldn’t be any happier, except for the fact that he is growing too fast. He now weighs over 15 lbs and has grown over four inches in just three months, so sad. It was wonderful to have my sister, Charity, there to photograph Aiden after the birth. It is always nice to have family come to witness the birth of your children.
Kieley is such a good big sister, helping mommy out with little brother. She constantly asks to hold him and comforts him with sweet words and songs when he cries. She would say to him, “No cry baby brother. Mommy is over there.” or “It’s okay, baby Aiden”. She sings songs such as “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and “A Dream That You Wish Will Come True” from Cinderella. She is too sweet and cute when it comes to taking care of him and worries when she doesn’t see him because he is in mommy and daddy’s room. We are so blessed with two beautiful and wonderful children and we praise and thank God for them.
Because I had Aiden during the summer, we did not lead a team anywhere, but stayed home in Florida. Sean was able to be part of Boot Camp by teaching classes and help lead music for evening rallies. It was a strange summer for him, not being on a team for the first time in 11 years. He did enjoy being able to meet most of the team members from every team and see how they grew over the summer when they came back to Florida for Debrief. He was thrilled when he had a visit from Aiden on Commissioning Night when he was only four days old. Aiden was the youngest baby to ever come to Boot Camp and that made us all very excited.
I have the privilege of staying home with the kids and watching them grow daily. It is hard for me to believe that Kieley is going to be three in November and Aiden is only three months old and fitting into six to nine month clothes (of course, one can never trust baby clothes sizes to be completely accurate). It is wonderful staying home with them every day.
After the summer, Sean was asked to take a trip with some of the staff to Teen Mission’s new base in Canada and help set it up. They drove up there, but due to mechanical problems and legalities at the border, the stay in Canada was longer than expected. He did like being part of set-up of a new base, but is was hard not seeing him for three weeks, especially with a newborn. While he was there, the kids and I stayed in Georgia with my parents and had a great time. We met Sean back in Florida and soon headed out for North Carolina to visit Sean’s family. We were blessed to have Aiden dedicated at Sean’s home church during our stay and had the opportunity to speak at a few churches.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your prayer support as well as financial. We know that times are hard and finances are tight, but we ask that you please continue sending. If everyone who receives this letter would make a commitment of only five dollars a month, we would be at full support. A little bit helps in many ways. Please prayerfully consider this as we continue on in the ministry we have been blessed to be a part of.
Thank you all for taking a few minutes out of your day to read and be caught up on what is going on in the lives of the Deegans. We love you all and pray the Lord’s protection and blessings on you.
In His Arms,
Sean, Sharon, Kieley and Aiden Deegan
