Keeping Up with the Aronsons – Fall 2009
Our biggest news is that we are now entering a new era in our lives. We have officially acquired the new names of Grandma and Grandpa E. Matthew and Jacque had Ava Nichole on October 11th. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. Needless to say, we think she is the most beautiful granddaughter out there! You can see more pictures on our Facebook page. We are enjoying this new role and are looking forward to spoiling her.
We had a good summer! It was very different than what we have had in the past. During Boot Camp, Teen Missions acquired a RV Park in Cocoa. We had loaned money to the owners, but they were not able to make the payments. However, our acquisition was not at a “good” time for the ministry of Teen Missions. Someone had to be available to run the park (as there were people living there) until more final plans could be made as to what to do with the property. Because most of the staff were already assigned teams and the ministry was in the middle of our busiest time of the year, Emery and I were asked if we would run the RV Park during the summer months.
Of course, we were more than willing. There was a need and we were available. We moved into a small park model on the property for the summer. Emery and Joseph stayed VERY busy with the mowing and yard care required on the 40 acres of property. Since it is the “rainy” season in Florida, the grass and weeds grow very fast. Along with the lawn care, there were endless maintenance jobs always coming up. I was responsible for getting the books in order and corresponding with the current and future patrons. In addition, I drove to the Teen Missions base every day to continue working in the Finance Department. This year all the teams came back to Florida for Debrief which meant all the teams had to check in their finances with Linda. Emery and Joseph were also able to help out at the main base by doing some bus runs after Boot Camp and during Debrief.
We are now officially back “home” and working at the Teen Missions base. I am staying busy in the Finance Department with the contributions that come in for the staff and paying bills, along with getting emails together with the breakdown of the money that gets sent to our overseas bases. It seems to be never ending, but I do enjoy it tremendously. Emery is still working in the Print Shop and outside whenever he is needed. Joseph is working at the zoo and enjoys seeing some of the staff when they visit. Matthew and Jacque are renting a house in Merritt Island. We enjoy visiting with them frequently. Matthew works at Publix which is a grocery store, and he is also going to school to become a police officer. Once he does that, please pray for safety in this crazy world!!
Our van finally “died” and could not be resurrected. After much research and hunting, the Lord opened the door for us to buy a Chevy Venture. Please pray that the needed finances to finish paying for this van would come in quickly. If you would like to help with this unexpected expense, please fill out the coupon below. Thank you!
Even though we are in our “down” time for the year, many things are still going on in the ministry of Teen Missions International. We are in the process of writing and proofing the 2010 Teen Missions Teams brochure which will be mailed out right after Thanksgiving. Twenty-six Bible, Missionary & Work Training Centers are running at our bases all over the world. Several of our bases are in final preparations for their upcoming Boot Camps. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment in this ministry and we are so thankful for the eternal impact it is having all over the world!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support that allow us to continue serving here at Teen Missions. We pray that you get a glimpse of the impact you are making in this ministry all over the world!
