Ecuador 2010| Teen Missions Trip

Boot Camp Training | Carpentry Class

June 13 – July 31

Come experience the beauty of the Republic of Ecuador on this summer missions trip to South America’s smallest country, and one of the most interesting with its varied cultures. Your project is to continue fixing the road that leads to the base, and prepare for the 2010 Ecuador Boot Camp. Presentations in churches and the surrounding villages will give you the opportunity to use your evangelism skills from Boot Camp and learn Spanish from those with whom you share.

Teen Missions in Ecuador BIBLE, MISSIONARY & WORK Training Center, housed in a 100-year-old Spanish hacienda, is located near Latacunga. Here at 9,350’ above sea level, you will enjoy seeing Mt. Cotopaxi in the distance.

On sightseeing day, you will visit Mitad del Mundo, where you can stand astride the Equator, one foot in the Northern and one in the Southern Hemisphere. Shopping in the open market gives you the chance to barter for: sweaters, blankets, leather goods, jewelry and dolls.

Housing will be in dorms. Showers are available and laundry will be done using buckets.

After completing Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport to board a flight across the Caribbean Sea to Panama City, Panama. A connecting flight takes you across the Gulf of Panama and Colombia to Quito, the capital city of Ecuador. From Quito, high in the Andes Mountains, you bus three hours to Teen Missions in Ecuador BIBLE, MISSIONARY & WORK Training Center, near Latacunga.

Ecuador is a Spanish-speaking country about the size of Colorado.  It has a developing economy and a democratically elected government.  Ecuador is geographically and ethnically diverse.  In general, tourist facilities are adequate but vary in quality.  Ecuador adopted the U.S. dollar as its official currency in 2000.  Both U.S. coins and Ecuadorian coins, which are equivalent to the value of the U.S. coins, are used.

  1. I have been on a teen missions international trip when I was 10 years old, so that was in 2003. I went to bootcamp then to Ecuador, 03070. I had an amazing time and learned a lot, I also felt good about doing god’s work there. I would love to go again on another trip, it is once in a life time experiance.

    1. The deadline is before Boot Camp starts. However, the longer you wait, the more limited your choices will be. The sooner you sign up, the better in order to get your support raised.

    1. You would need to come to our base in Merritt Island for Boot Camp training before going overseas. You can either drive, take a bus to Titusville or fly to the Orlando International Airport. The teams debrief at Teen Missions, so your transportation home would have to be from there or flying from Orlando or taking a bus from Titusville.
