Well, you would think Boot Camp is rough, dirty, hard, leaders yelling, hearts crushed and people being trained. Right? Well, that is true, but the Lord’s Boot Camp is more than that. Hi, I’m Matt and this is my Boot Camp story. You all know what an SB is, right? Well, if not, it is a Special Blessing. If you do some thing wrong, you have to serve (work) during your free time.

I arrived at Boot Camp at 2:15 a.m. and hopped off the bus, found my leaders, said “Hi” and then found out a little bit about him. Then he said, “We have a team SB from yesterday.” Well, that’s great, I thought, I have an SB and I was sitting in the airport on my way to Boot Camp when I got it. Well, moving on…I fell asleep at 3:30 a.m. and woke up at 5:00 a.m. I grabbed my stuff and hiked out to my tent. It was a hike but I got to see everything was. Then at 5:30 we ate breakfast and I met three of my teammates.

I’m from Danville, PA and I am use to wearing jeans in 30 degrees, but I’m not use to this heat. We are a team of 7 teens. We help each other and pray for each other. In fact, I think I prayed more in one day than I ever did at home in a week. It real hit me…I thought, this is what it means to be a faithful Christian…and I liked it.

Every night during rally we have a speaker and I sit in my sit, thinking this is good. I like what the speaker is saying. They have an invitation after the speaker and people come to the Lord. Every night I sat there, until about the fifth night when it hit me. The speaker said, “Even if you have accepted the Lord, but feel that you are doing unholy things, please come up.” Bam! He was talking to me. I accepted God at the age of 12, but felt like He left and I started going against His will. There was music, movies and other stuff I wanted to do, but it was against God’s will and He was not pleased. I went up front, spoke with a counselor and prayed. I felt such a relief. I was happy and couldn’t stop smiling and was just excited. I felt the Lord again. I feel like my team is getting closer together and mentally, physically and spiritually stronger every day.

I’m a proud follower of Jesus Christ, my Lord.

  1. Cлава Богу! Glory to God! It meant a lot for me to read this, even though it’s not the part of your summer I’m interested in the most.
