Mission Trip Dates: June 23 – August 14 — Work/Evangelism
Have you ever wanted to make an impact on a tribe in a remote mission field? If you have, then God has an opportunity for you among the Tumbuka tribe. After Boot Camp the team will fly from the Orlando International Airport to Dulles International Airport in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your next flight crosses the Atlantic Ocean to Rome, Italy for refueling, then over the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, before continuing to Lilongwe, Malawi.
Malawi is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa”. After stopping overnight at the Teen Missions Malawi base in Chipoka, you travel seven hours by truck to the far reaches of Northern Malawi to an area called Chilumba. Here you will construct an AIDS Orphans Rescue Unit that will help hundreds of needy children.
You will also have opportunities for backpacking treks into remote Tumbuka villages. Some, so remote, don’t even use money, but barter for goods. Housing will be in tents. You will also have the opportunity to go to the Nyika National Park where you will be able to go on a horseback safari and may ride alongside zebra. You may also see elephants, elands, leopards and warthogs.
Before your summer is over, you will also have the chance to buy local handcrafts such as drums, paintings and wood carvings.
Project Expense: $4690 U.S. plus Registration Fee
