Scotland Highlands & Islands | Teen Missions Trip

2005 Scotland Missions Trip

2005 Scotland Missions Trip

Missions Trip Dates: June 12 – July 30

Put on your Gospel armor as you prepare to share the Lord in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

After Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Newark, New Jersey and on to Edinburgh, Scotland. From Edinburgh, you bus north four hours to Inverness, where you will be working with the Youth for Christ (YFC) Highlands & Islands and the YMCA.

Your arrival will be just before the summer holiday starts so sharing in schools will still be possible. The evangelism skills learned at Boot Camp will be put to good use as you share in area churches, street and youth meetings and at the YMCA coffee shop.Neighborhood clean-up projects will enable you to build friendships with those who may not otherwise meet the team. Plans will be made to share with YFC groups in outlying communities.

Housing will be in rooms, with showers available. During your project, you will travel to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, where you will shop along the Royal Mile and visit Edinburgh Castle, home of the Scottish Crown Jewels.

Project Expense: $3890 U.S. plus Registration Fee

  3. I was wondering about when Teen Missions will be sending out their Specific Team Fact Sheets for the teams. I just want to know when to expect them for me & my brother. 🙂
    thanks!

  4. hey i want to go on this mission trip but i need to know when to sign up ?!?!?

    • Adrianna, You need to sign up now in order to have time to raise your support and get everything together. The longer you wait, the fewer your choices.

  5. Beth,
I am interested in attending either this or the Malawi trip. However, I will be 19 in early June. I read that if you are 20 you have to go as a team member. What if I was interested in going as a team member. How would I go about that? Would I not meet the requirements because of my age?
    Thanks!

    • Koral, If you are 19 and NOT a former team member, then you must go as a team member. Only those who are 18 or older AND former team members can lead until the age of 20 when you don’t have to be a former team member to lead.

  6. I am the one that is in the Kingsway Christian School network.

  7. Brooke I tried looking you up on facebook and there are three Brooke Mauck’s which one are you?

Also the price is very high for my family to afford is there any kind of financial aid??

    • Katie, When do you turn 20. 19 is not too old. Your parents don’t have to pay for it. We will supply prayer cards and letters for you to send to your family, friends, businesses, etc. to help you raise your support.

  10. I’m going on this trip too! I am so excited, feel free to look me up on facebook! I can’t wait to meet everyone.

  18. Mrs. Kostner, I’m an FTM and will be going on this trip. My cousin is living in England right now. Would TMI allow her to visit me while I’m there?

    • Grace, Please call the office (after Thursday) and we will explain the policy to you. It shouldn’t be a problem, but there are some things you need to know first.

  19. I’m searching for summer mission trips, I’ve gone with teen mania for two years but I was looking for different organizations, I assume you are located in Florida near Orlando?

    • Sarah, We are located about 45 minutes east of Orlando on the Space Coast. Our property is very close to the Kennedy Space Center.

  21. Also, when do you need to sign up to go on one of these trips by? Thanks! 🙂

    • Alaina, You can register online. Make sure to send us a non-copyrighted picture and the $30 registration fee ($35 Canadian).

  22. I am interested in this trip! Will it be mostly evangelism, or more construction projects? Will we be working with children or adults? What does it mean by sharing in local churches? This sounds like a wonderful experience!

    • Alaina, I cannot give you an exact percentage of how much will be EV and how much will be work. You will work with both adults and children. In churches, you may have a presentation in the church service or Sunday Schools.
