Work continues in Belize

It is raining outside and has been off & on for the last few days. The meeting that Pastor Tim was supposed to have with the local government leaders was put off multiple times this week & a decision about our work was finally made this afternoon. We are pleased to report that the local government leaders have agreed to let us proceed with our work as long as the pastor was willing to make one compromise. They have asked for the pastor & the church to do something in the community to improve it. Specifically they have asked him to build a bus shelter for the local children. The pastor does not have the money to complete this project but he is praying that the Lord will provide (we are praying, as well!). The last four days have been long, because we have not been able to work, but the team has been concentrating their time on evangelism and Bible studies. On Tuesday, we tore down the bamboo fence around the church so that it could be repainted and put it back up. The team is very excited about returning to work tomorrow. We ask that you continue to pray for our project here. We have discovered the construction materials are very expensive down here & we are not sure how much of this project we will be able to complete based upon the funding that we have available. During our hiatius from work we did have an answered prayer in the form of an opportunity to teach english to the local community. We hope to begin english classes in the next few days, as we began making lesson plans today. Please continue to lift the team up in your prayers.

  1. The Lord is working so hard through TMI in the life of these teens. You are constantly in our prayers. Please let Brandon Smith know how proud we are of him and thankful that his Spanish is coming in handy and he is missed! “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” —Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV

  2. Thank you for the updates. It is great to hear your stories and challenges as the summer progresses. I send love and prayers to Katie Millar from St James Church. Can’t wait to welcome you back. God bless.

  3. How exciting to see God working in the lives of these teens! I would love for Jordan and Jacob to know that we are praying for them and miss them very much.
