The team has been very excited with the work they have accomplished the past few days. The sidewalk up to the tower was finished on Monday, the footers or base of the shed was poured yesterday and they are beginning the blocklaying today. They are hoping to get quite a few rows up by the end of today. This team is a very strong team and they let nothing get in their way of finishing the task that was set before them this summer. They have grown so much in the Lord and have been getting along so well with each other it is almost heartwrenching to think that this summer is nearly over. We have only a week and two days left here and we will soon be heading back to Florida for Debrief. I don’t think that fact has hit the team yet with all of the work they have been doing. They truly are a wonderful group of kids! Last Sunday we celebrated Christmas in July with a Christmas feast. They really enjoyed the stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and chocolate cake. It was a lot of fun. With it being Wednesday today, we will be heading into Dublin for church tonight. The team realy enjoys meeting the local people in the church service and it is one of the only times they can get out during the week and talk with people from Ireland. The church is a very diverse church, however with people from Scotland, England, India, the Philippines and the U.S. They do enjoy getting to know them. Monday is a holiday for Ireland and most stores will be closed. This is the day we are planning to see Powerscourt estate with the missionaries from Ireland Outreach. The team is very excited to see the country part of Ireland and will not be expecting the surprise in store for them. We are going to be stopping at some ruins a bit further away from Powerscourt estate afterwards that is in the beautiful fields of Ireland. We wanted to suprise the teams with this. It is so sad to know that our time here is almost over, but we do ask for your prayers. The team has grown so much in the past few days and we pray that they will continue to grow closer to each other and also to the Lord. He has been doing mighty things this summer and the devil doesn’t like it. Please pray for strength for all of us and the endurance to get through the rest of the summer, and finish the project. We have really been enjoying our time here and are hoping that we have blessed the people here in many ways. Thank you for your prayers and love. Team Ireland!

  6. This posting nearly brought me to tears! I have such joy to know that my daughter has enjoyed such an experience. What I would have done to have been given such an opportunity at that age. I think it would have changed my direction. I pray for any teens on the teams who went into these trips NOT in the right frame of mind that God has broken them and shown them the joy of walking in His way. He is so faithful!

  7. It excites me to hear about the block laying project. That was Jessie’s favorite class at boot camp. I know they are developing friendships that will last for many years to come as well as memories of how they have seen the Lord work this summer. I must say that I CANNOT WAIT to see Jessie 2 weeks from today, but I know it will be bittersweet for her as she says goodbye to her teammates and leaders. Thanks for keeping us updated. We appreciate it more than you know!

  8. WOW! This message is very exciting! Rachel Schmiege is missed but I am glad that she is growing along with other Christian kids her age. Enjoy the last week!
