The team returned yesterday from having 3 days out on an island called Jaguar Island. It is about one hour boat ride from Belem. What an amazing place right on the river side where the homes are all built up on stilts and connected together with bridges because the tide comes right up and under the homes. It was a real life experience for the team as they saw how the river people in the Amazon live and an eye opener to all of us on how great are the challenges to reach this people with the gospel as they are so isolated from regular communication and transport. We are now back in Barcarena where we are participating in a VBS of one local church every morning of this week until Sunday. In the evenings we plan to do some more open air presentations in the town squares where many people meet in the evenings. It has been hot and humid, but the nights have been very nice and cool. We have seen one clear decision for Christ, but have also had many great opportunities just getting tracts out and presenting in various situations. Even just visiting the homes of the river people allowed us a couple of special moments where Emma and Aria were able to share their testimonies with them. We praise the Lord for the health given to us this summer. We did have problems with our bus on one journey but the Lord provided a mechanic along the way who helped us reach our destination.
