Hello From Belize!
It’s hard to “Belize” we are in the final stretch! We have only three work days remaining on the project & the team has hit full gear trying to get everything done. We appreciate your prayers, all of our team is now healthy & able to work. The weather continues to be a little uncooperative, but we are working around the tropical downpours we get throughout the day. Most team members are working earnestly at cutting & tying steel for the support columns for the hurricane shelter. We are saddened that we will not be able to see this project through to completion, although with various road blocks we have hit through the summer & limited funding we will only be able to finish the foundation & support columns for the building.
This past week was exciting for the team. Sunday was our last opportunity to fellowship with the church in Copper Bank. We have loved the small community here & will miss meeting together & singing praises. Our team had the opportunity to share three songs during the morning service. Along with the singing, Aaron C., Emily V. & Jesse M. all shared a testimony with the church. Half of our team also had the opportunity to lead the entire children’s program for the church, giving the church workers a break. We did puppets, shared the wordless bracelets, with Sora translating for us, and spent some time coloring. We worked throughout the day on Saturday to allow us the opportunity to take Monday off to do a little sight seeing. Our team was joined by two Belizean Teen Missions teams to go Cave Tubing. The team spent over 3 hours floating through some very long & dark caves. The afternoon was concluded with some play time in the river. It was extremely refreshing for us, because we have not had the opportunity to bathe in such clean water all summer!
As we look ahead we will be leaving Copper Bank first thing Saturday morning to return to FL. Please pray for safety & good health as we travel. Also pray for the team that they will have the energy & endurance to complete the project set before us.
