A big “Hello” to our family, friends and former team mates!
Oh where to begin? The last few months have been full of excitement and news to share. Our most exciting news was the birth of our third little girl. We welcomed Lily Grace Myers to our family on August 31, 2010. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and measured 20 1/2 inches long…definitely our biggest baby yet!
Everybody was surprised by how big she was. She was born to a chorus of “wows” from the doctor, the nurses and her father. My immediate response was, “what’s wrong?” and was very grateful they were just wows of astonishment. She is a healthy little girl. Mike, the girls and I can’t stop ohhing and ahhing over her. She is so beautiful. Her first few weeks have been wonderful, filled with lots of kisses, hugs and cuddles. We feel so blessed to have yet another baby girl. Mike says that it must be our job to make the world a more beautiful place.I am doing well and feel great. God is SO GOOD!
Kenya started Kindergarten this fall. She is an avid little learner. I asked her what she wanted to learn most this year and her response was “to read”. We are so grateful that God has instilled in her a desire to learn. She is also excelling at gymnastics. She made Team this year which means that, after training, she will be entering competitions. We are so proud of her! She turns six at the end of September and has asked to get her ears pierced. What a young lady she is growing up to be. Isabelle is also growing by leaps and bounds. You can often find her singing her ABC’s or counting to ten. She loves to play Hide and Seek. The only thing she loves more than that game is reading. She is also very into fashion. She insists on wearing a dress everyday and likes to pick it out as well. She is so much fun to be around and makes us laugh all the time with her quirky antics.
Mike and I had very different summers. I was on Summer Home Staff. It was a difficult and important job as many leaders and parents count on us being here as needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is much to do on the home front too. I really enjoyed answering the phones and talking to parents who needed comfort or simply, just information. I had a great summer, although I have gained so much empathy for single moms. Being a mom is the best job I will ever have, but it is made much easier when dad is around. I am so glad that Mike is back safe and sound.
Mike: I had an amazing summer with some of the best teenagers from around North America. We worked really hard and found time for fun too. We got one half of a large dorm house up to the cat beam for the Teen Missions base in the Philippines. It was such a beautiful place, one of the prettiest I’ve been to. The people were great and so giving to us. I had such a great team this summer. I just have to thank each one of you! You know I’ve been to many places, but it always happens the same way: When you go to bless people, you are the ones that end up getting blessed. It was hard to be away from the family, but Michelle and I both knew that this was what the Lord had for us this summer. We could especially see that once our time apart was over. Thank you to everyone who was praying for us and keeping up with our progress.
The Teen Missions brochure was written and sent out early this year, which means that we have our team assignments for next summer already. As of right now, we have been placed on the Bethlehem Bible College/Israel team!! Hosted by the Bethlehem Bible College, our team will continue work on their new student building. Projects will include paving the parking lot, landscaping and painting the building. We have heard and read about the town where Jesus was born and about the surrounding area since we were children and to actually have the opportunity to live and breathe that part of world is very exciting for us. We will get to see and experience the places where Jesus lived and walked! We have much anticipation for the ministry opportunities the Lord has in store for us, both to the people we will come in contact with once we are there and to our team as well.
We are so happy to be serving the Lord with Teen Missions and we hope this joy comes through to you in our newsletters. We could not be here without your continued support, both prayer and financial. We praise the Lord for His goodness to us in that He has surrounded us with such faithful friends and family! We are humbled daily by His continued provision in our lives and ministry.

Pray also for…
1. Mike has extremely dry eyes. Despite on-going efforts to correct the problem, his eyes seem to be getting worse. The eye doctor has referred him to a specialist. Please pray against any vision loss and for healing.
2. Wisdom in raising 3 girls!! May our lives reflect Jesus Christ to our children in everything that we say and do.
3. Continued health and safety for our family.
4. That we would fearlessly make known the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that desperately needs to hear it! (Eph. 6:19)
