“How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!” Romans 10:14,15 NIV
Dear Family & Friends,
Praise God for a new year! The thought of a new year always brings reflection on the previous one. We were so blessed to have time over Christmas break to spend as a family and look back on all the challenges and triumphs of 2010. God moved both Andy and I towards a different area of the ministry: the BIBLE, MISSIONARY & WORK Training Center (BMW). We were privileged to be a part of a program that is training tomorrow’s missionaries and leaders. We moved out to the ministry’s property to be closer to the students and help oversee the Conference & Retreat Center. We took a great group of young people to Hong Kong for a month of evangelism. God stretched us and taught us many lessons during that journey. We met many new friends and said goodbye to several others leaving for the mission field or other ministry. But through all of our experiences, one thing prevailed. God was with us. He taught us how to be flexible, patient, and gracious. He also taught us to treasure people and time. We are so thankful for all the lessons learned in 2010 and look forward to all God has in store for us in 2011.
We will continue to be a part of the BMW program. Andy oversees the maintenance of the Conference & Retreat Center, pool, dorms, dining room, etc. while I coordinate the academic and practical training of the students. We currently have 15 students; however, two will be finishing their studies in February while five more students will begin their two years of training in the spring term. After they complete their two years of studies, they raise support for a year of internship. This will be the year of the intern. We have five couples and three singles that will begin the internship part of their training. Three of the couples will serve at the Florida Headquarters while the other interns will serve for the students to apply all they’ve learned in the classroom. Watch for ministry highlights about The Invasion in our next newsletter.
Despite cholera outbreaks and political unrest, we still have a green light to go to Haiti this summer. More than ever, we need to provide relief and ministry to this devastated country. Nearly twenty-five team members have already signed up to join this team. We are so excited for our own children to see firsthand the opportunities for ministry and be a part of changing lives. We have been overwhelmed with gratitude by the outpouring of finances that people have given for our children to go with us. We are still in need of $1,500 to cover the airfare for them. Please pray about being a part of our team this summer through your financial giving and your prayers!!
We are still amazed every month by the way God provides for our finances through all of you. We know that several of you give out of your own abundance but more often, many of you give sacrificially. Please know that your prayers and gifts are not in vain. We are able to continue in the ministry only because of you. You play a vital role in getting the gospel to the nations. Thank you for your willingness to serve our family and this ministry through your prayers, finances and friendship. May God richly bless you.

“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law, But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” I Corinthians 15:56-58
