South Africa Foot Washing

2010 South Africa Missions TripDates: June 20 – August 12 — Evangelism

Experience the diversity of three provinces in beautiful South Africa from mountains and savannahs, gold and diamond mines, to huge cities and squatter camps.

After Commissioning, you bus to Orlando International Airport for a flight to Dulles International Airport in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your next flight crosses the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, before continuing on to Johannesburg, South Africa. From the airport, a bus ride to the Teen Missions in South Africa BiBle, Missionary & Work Training Center in Pyramid, begins your wonderful summer.

Your project will be to share the love of Christ with orphans by washing their feet and putting new socks and shoes on them. Sharing Bible stories, doing crafts, teaching phonics and playing games are all a part of your ministry. You will also be involved with the Manna Project, a ministry that provides bread inscribed with the written Word of God on each slice. You will share this bread of life to the orphans and homeless in many needy communities.

There will be opportunities to reach out to the people of the surrounding villages with the Good News of Jesus Christ by using music, drama, puppets and testimonies. Travel to the mining town of Thabazimbi in Limpopo, then on to the village of Kwamglanga, Mpumalanga to pass out shoes to the orphans, homeless, and many others in these destitute villages.

A day-long safari to Pilanesburg Game Park where you may see the “Big Five” (leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, cape buffalo and lion) will be one of the highlights of your summer.

Shopping for handcrafted items such as wood carvings, clothing with beadwork, handbags and jewelry, batiks, colorful tablecloths, and handmade musical instruments will complete your experience in South Africa.

Estimated Project Expense Between: $4390 – $4790 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee
