Holy Land School

2004 Egypt Missions TripDates: June 20 – August 8 — Work/Evangelism

Spend your summer walking where Jesus walked!

After training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, your team will bus to the Orlando International Airport for your transatlantic flight to Tel Aviv, Israel via Philadelphia. From here you will bus through the scenic countryside to Jerusalem and on past Rachels Tomb to the Hope Secondary School in Beit Jala, located on the edge of Bethlehem.

Your project will be to continue work on the boundary wall around the school and to paint classrooms. You will be housed in dorms with showers available. Laundry will be done using your bucket. You will have the opportunity to share the Gospel using puppets, drama, music and testimonies.

In Bethlehem you may see the Church of the Nativity and nearby Shepherd’s Field, where it is believed the angels appeared with the announcement of Jesus’ birth. You may also visit Christs Church, the oldest Protestant church in Jerusalem, and the many famous holy shrines and historic sites including Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed; the Garden Tomb, where He was buried and rose from the dead; the Via Dolorosa, the way of the cross; and Calvary, where Jesus was crucified. You may also visit the Old City and the Eastern Gate where Christ will return.

You may barter in the Old City for olive-wood carvings, delicate glassware, Arab clothing and Hebron glass.

Estimated Project Expense: $4690 – $ U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

    Thanks

  17. I went with TMI in 2002 I was only 11 years old! I am so glad my parents let me go! Kelley you say your daughter will stretch you are so right. Ten years later I am a full time missionary and my parents have had to be stretched many times! But God has given them peace every time I go some place. Corrie Ten Boom said “The safest place on earth is the centre of God’s will”

  18. Thanks, David. We’re about ready to say yes, then of course I turn on the news and the headline is “Iran is ready for war on Israel.” We can’t be fearful though, and I know that trips would get changed if they are deemed dangerous (yet understandably there’s no guarantees). I had no idea my daughter was going to stretch me so much. 🙂

  19. Kelley,

Our daughter went to VietNam in 95 when she was 13. It changed her life. Teen Missions and the leaders take very good care of the team members. I would never hesitate to send my grandkids at 13. I hope this helps.

  20. Would it be indicated online if a particular trip is already full?

  21. Are there many teens who do these overseas trips as their first missions trips? My daughter (will be 14) is very interested but has not done a missions trip yet.

  22. Hi i am Keinan Johnson, and i was wondering how many people can there be on each team?

  23. Are parents welcome to join as leaders?

  24. OOPS! Let me try again:
    1. There is mention of sites the participants may visit. Will the teens have opportunity to visit those sites? Or is that a maybe?
    2. How much interaction will the teens have with the population?
    3. How much evangelistic interaction will the participants have with the general population?

    • Howard, 1. We will try to get the team to the sites that say “may visit”. 2. Their interaction will depend a lot on them. If they want to get the know the nationals, there will be that opportunity. 3. There will be evangelism, but it may be limited due to the area.

  25. My daughters will be 13 soon. Has done out of state mission trips, wants to do one abroad. How can I get more info on the Holy Land School project? Is this for individuals, or do you have to sign up w a group?

  26. I was wondering if alot of the kids in the school are saved, with them being in a believing school?
    Rachel

  27. Hi there,

My son is interested in this team. We have a deep love of Israel and would love to see him go. Can you tell us more about Hope Secondary School? Is it Israeli or Palestinian – I assume Christian Palestinian as Bethlehem is under Palestinian control. What is TMI’s relationship and overall stance towards the Jewish people and Israel? I don’t mean to be divisive in any way, but we need more information before making a decision. If this is too controversial, please email me privately. Thanks.

    • Bonnie, The school is Palestinian. I am not sure what you mean by our stance towards Israel. If you could email us with specific questions, we will be happy to answer them!
