Australia Preteen

Australia Missions TripDates: June 28 – August 4 — Work/Evangelism

Kangaroos, kookaburras, and koalas are already talking about your arrival “down under” on the beautiful island continent of Australia.

After Boot Camp, you will begin your adventure from the Orlando International Airport with a flight across the southern United States to Los Angeles. From Los Angeles, it is just a short “hop” across the Pacific Ocean, the Equator and the International Date Line before arriving in Brisbane, Queensland. From Brisbane, you will make the two-hour bus ride to the Teen Missions Australia BiBle, Missionary, & Work (BMW) Training Center.

Housing will be in A-frame dorms and hot showers are available. Your specific project is to do renovations on the property such as pouring sidewalks and painting. You will also have an opportunity to share the Gospel in churches and local schools in Cooroy, Pomona, Noosa and Tewantin.

You will become celebrities as people come to hear your presentations of music, puppets, drama and testimonies of what God is doing in your life. Remember to pack some winter clothing as the temperature falls with the setting sun. It will certainly be a change from that warm Boot Camp weather!

Visit the Sunshine Coast beaches, Opals Down Under and The Skin Thing where souvenirs are plentiful with boomerangs, didgeridoos, kangaroo skins and opals. You may also have time to visit the Australia Zoo, founded by Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and his family.

Estimated Project Expense: $4090 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

  7. Hello, my 12 year old daughter and I are looking to do a missions trip together this summer and would be very interested in the Australia Preteen mission.

Would this trip be an option for us to look into as a duo? I would be interested in being a leader and my daughter a preteen participant.

    Thank you!

    • Cindy, Please contact the Leader Dept. about leading that team. There is still room for your daughter to go there.

  8. hey this summer i will be turning 14 in july so while I’m in Australia. can i still go on the pre-teen? trip i would go on the teen one but they aren’t going to australia and it is like my dream to go there.

  13. Haley Henderson Family 11022

my daughter was 12 yr old this summer on her 1st trip to teen missions. she loved it and grew spiritually so much. we signed her back up to her choice… Papa New Ginea. for 2012. TMI is not pamper camp. the kids really work and have fun at the same time. As a parent I loved to watch the live online ralleys every night of bootcamp. we also wrote Haley lots of letters !! God bless.

  14. Thanks Josiah – good to know!

  15. I first went with Teen Missions when I was 11 I turned 12 in Germany! I am now a full time missionary and praise God that my parents stepped out in faith and let me go!

  16. Are these trips really 5 weeks long? I hadn’t considered such a long time with my 12 y.o. on her own. She’s only done 1 week at camp with people she knew well, let alone a different country with strangers for 5 weeks. I need reassurance.

  17. I would LOVE to go! Next year when I’m 13 tho. How long is the boot camp training? Can u bring a friend? How far away can u live? Do u have 2 go with a parent? lol, sorry, I have ALOT of questions! 🙂

    • Natasha, Since you will be 13, you can go on a Teen or Preteen team. Yes, you can bring a friend, although most won’t. Boot Camp training is 10 days for Preteens to a little over two weeks for teens. No, you don’t have to go with a parent.

  18. do we have to go to boot camp ?

  19. I would love to go on this trip next year when I’m 13. It would be my first time with Teen Missions Int’l!!!
