Zambia Orphan Garden

Tmi Building ProjectDates: March 18 – April 9, 2012

Following a day of training in Merritt Island, Florida, you will travel to Orlando for a flight to Dulles International Airport in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your next flight crosses the Atlantic Ocean, France, Italy, the Mediterranean Sea then over the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The team will then connect to a flight that takes you to the Teen Missions in Zambia BiBle, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center.

Your project is to plant gardens at Rescue Units that will help the orphans and widows with their constant struggle to be supplied with nutritious foods. First, you will plant seedling gardens at the base, which will be used to supply food to Zambia’s 16 Rescue Units.

The second part of the trip will be to visit two Rescue Units and plant gardens there as well. There will be opportunities to spend time ministering to the orphans by teaching phonics, singing songs, telling stories and playing games.

Housing will be in tents; bathing and laundry will be done using a bucket. There will be a day of shopping for items to take home as a reminder of your time in Zambia. On your return to the U.S. you will stop in Rome, Italy for refueling.
