Greetings From Soggy Switzerland! -11001

11001-Switzerland EatingGreetings from the soggy Swiss Alps. The team has been working hard today between rainstorms trying to stay on-track for our project. They excited to begin to see projects that we have been working on begin to take form. This week a small excavator was brought onto the job site to dig up the bed of the paths that we are replacing. The team worked diligently shuttling loads of dirt and rock from one end of the property to the other.  This next week we anticipate laying down the new rock bed & compacting it in place.

Thank you for your prayers for our opportunity to share in a local school. Nick I., Karrah, Lisa & Ashleigh had the opportunity to travel across lake Thun to speak with an english class. Most of the students were between 12-14 years old & were excited to meet Americans their ages. The team had the opportunity to share about Teen Missions, Boot Camp and most importantly, why they were in Switzerland. The Swiss youth were very curious about Boot Camp and what life was like at home. The youth were eager to look at the team member’s cameras to see photos of bootcamp & home.  This was an extreamly positive experience and we’re praying that the testimony of the team members will leave a lasting impact on the Swiss youth’s lives.

One of the unexpected blessings of staying on the YWAM base is that it opporates both as a retreat center & a functioning farm. The team has enjoyed “interacting” with the various farm animals. A blessing in the kitchen has been the opportunity to sample various things from the gardens here.  Specifically we were able to enjoy “authentic” apple pie on the 4th of July, picked directly from trees in the orchards. Today the team sampled 4 different types of berries grown in a local garden, and rumor has it there may be berry syrup on tomorrow morning’s pancakes.

Tonight we had a special blessing of having the former director of YWAM Europe come and share at our evening devotions. He is leading a tour group throughout the religious herritage of Europe and they were staying for two nights in Einigen. He & his wife shared how they have worked alongside numerous Teen Missions groups & they love the work that Teen Missions teams have down throughout Europe. They also shared with the team their testimonies and a bit about the work that God is doing throughout Europe. The team really enjoyed the opportunity to hear about YWAM in Europe & had lots of questions.

Thank you again for your prayers for our team!
