I was pretty nervous about going to another country like Trinidad, because I had heard plenty of negative things about foreign countries. I knew so little, yet it affected me greatly, and caused me to doubt the Lord’s power. I would have liked to believe that I was ready for anything after Boot Camp, but that was not the case. I was a nervous wreck who thought that I could get through all of this this summer and all the new situations on my own. I was so excited for this new adventure serving God, I just failed to put all of my trust in Him. From Florida, we flew to Trinidad on a four hour flight, which we all enjoyed. When we arrived in Trinidad, we waited to pass through Immigration for about 45 minutes. We were praying like crazy, because the Immigration officers said that missionaries aren’t allowed into Trinidad without a visa and permit. We had neither of those and after talking to the officers and explaining the situation, they let us into the country as visitors! The Lord definitely answers prayers! When we arrived at our final destination (Triumphant Ministries). I was so amazed at our living arrangements! We get to stay in the church we have the privilege of running water, showers, and fans! The pastor and church family here are all so nice and helpful. I am so ashamed that I ever doubted the God of the universe! The pastor and people of the church had a lunch and dinner meal prepared for us. We were able to fellowship with some of the church members and play with their children. We had a wonderful time, and we know we are so blessed! I read a Bible verse this morning – Joshua 1:9. It said, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” I will never doubt my Lord again, because He has the power to do great things in and through us!
