11010-chile-funGreetings from hot and dry Pulcallpa, Peru! This is one hard working team! Our plan is to complete the church and to double in size the work that we started last year. We will be extending the length of the building by three columns on each side, as well as the roof. Our first day here was spent preparing the layout and purchasing supplies, but in the last two days of work the team has dug all the footers, cut rebar and moved hundreds of pounds of dirt and rock! Needless to say, when I cook a meal I plan for seconds, because hard work makes for big appetites.
The team is truly enjoying getting to know many of the Peruvian children and church members. We consistently have an audience! Judy, our missionary, informed us that they have consistently been gathering every Tuesday as a church for the past year and praying for Teen Missions to return and finish the work we began last summer. God answers prayer!
We had the blessing of introducing our team and sharing some songs in a service they held Saturday night. We also shared Sunday morning, mostly with the children. We presented the Gospel message through the wordless bracelets, with Judy translating and three precious children  accepted Christ as their Savior! Praise the Lord!
The team went to the plaza this afternoon to experience the sights and smells of Pulcallpa and to do some shopping. Several of the team members have been struggling on and off with scratchy throats and stuffy noses. Please pray for the overall health of the team, as they all desire to work their hardest on the project we hope to complete. Again, it is such a blessing to have all your children with us and to  see them growing stronger in the Lord and closer as a team! We will write again soon!
