Wow…only one week left here in Nepal. We have been very busy here at Mendie’s Haven mixing concrete and digging footers. We are building a partial wall in front of the boy’s bathrooms and constructing a roof over the back of the kitchen so that the children can wash their clothes and dishes when it is raining and also making a concrete patio for outside cooking when propane is not available. The team is enjoying playing with the children when they get home from school. They love to hold hands and ask questions. Josiah is a big hit with all the kids…they like him to lift them up over his head since he is so tall. 🙂 We shared a meal together on Sunday night of water buffalo, rice, chips, dal (a sauce made from lentils), and brownies for dessert. It was so much fun to eat together and watch the children fill their tummies full! (They only get meat once a week here).
During our team devotions, we have heard testimonies from Esther, Kristen and Priscilla. Moly shared how God uses numbers to show his divine inspiration in creation (something her father has taught her).
We all enjoyed shopping in the Thamel market Saturday after church. The team learned the art of bartering and it became a competition to see who could get the best price. We bought North Face jackets, pashmina scarves, knives and handmade souvenirs.
The team has not received any mail since our host missionary and location have changed so last night, I shared some of the comments the parents have left on our team updates. They sure enjoyed hearing your comments!! (Parents-we are trying to contact the other host missionary about the mail).
We are starting to battle some minor stomach issues, but other than that, everyone is doing well and working hard.
