Australia-11020

11020-australiaTeam Australia has returned from “walkabout”… or perhaps thats what you may have thought because of the lack of news lately. We are back at the TMI base in Tewantin after seven days at Woorabinda, (the Aborigine Community) and then three days at the Great Barrier Reef. Woorabinda was such a blessing for us to help the host missionary couple, to paint the church and to mix with the locals, especially the children. It was pretty tough conditions but the team came through well and left behind a great testimony and experiences that will never be forgotten. On Monday we drove to the coast where we stayed in a Caravan Park for two nights. It was really crowded and we had a spot where we set up tents and kitchen. Those around us complemented the team on their excellent behavior during the stay. They thought that 20 teens would disturb the peace, but they commented on how these teens didn’t use bad language and were very respectful. On the last morning we had to get up at 5:45am, pack up the tents and all the gear into the bus trailer, have breakfast and shower and then load up to leave at 7am. An elderly couple nearby came to see the team off and couldn`t believe that we had done all that without waking anyone else up. Their only complaint was that the team had called the lady “Ma’am” and that had made her feel old. Then on Wednesday we had a day on the “Reef”. Words cannot describe the scene of snorkelling over all that beauty. It was truly a day of admiring God`s amazing creation. The leaders just want to say to the parents how much we have appreciated leading this team. They have worked really hard in the challenges, been very thankful in the little things, and we believe they have grown a lot through this experience of serving the Lord here in Australia. Thank you for your prayers, knowing that God has been very much at work in us, through us and for us.  Ps. After ten days on the road and without mail we returned to a big box full of letters and cards. Although that kind of brings on a flood of homesickness for everyone, we do appreciate your support in every way. Keep praying that we will all finish strong, focused and praising God.
