Tanzania-11012

11012-kilimanjaroWhat a week! It’s been crazy busy here with all the activities that have been packed into our schedule this week. Monday, the team completed their final hike, coming down the mountain in about an hour. We picked them up in the truck when they got to the paved road so that we could go swimming! There is a beautiful place not too far away where there is a natural spring with water so crystal clear that you could see down 20 feet or so. We had group devotions around a campfire there before heading back to a friend’s home nearby the Teen Missions base where we pitched our tents for the remainder of our time here in Tanzania.

Tuesday we took the team into town for buying souvenirs. Wednesday we had an amazing safari! Animals by the hundreds! We saw zebra, giraffe, wildabeest, elephant, warthog, buffalo, baboons, monkeys and even three lions! We spent hours watching out from the safety of our safari trucks as the animals went about their lives all around us.

Today we are finishing up our classes, doing a bit of laundry and packing our bags as we get ready to fly tomorrow. The team met our newest pet, a goat, this morning right before it was time to begin to prepare him for dinner. We are having our last supper together on the field, so to make it more special we got sodas, chipati, samosas and a cake to go with our African meal. Right now the team is doing evangelism at a nearby orphanage. It’s hard to believe we will be saying goodbye to Petah and Travis tomorrow as they are not coming with us to Debrief, but are off to Uganda. We are excited to get back and see all the teams again. I know the team is excited to make their phone call home on Saturday before we head off to Debrief.

Again thank you for all your prayers and encouragement.
