Wow, what an amazing journey God has taken us on! On December 14, 2011 we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Jadyn Makenzie. It was quite the experience—a lot different than in America, but we praise the Lord there were no complications and she is healthy! Eric and I are thoroughly enjoying our new roles as Mommy and Daddy.
Mom and Dad came for Christmas and were so happy to finally meet Jadyn. Though the time went by too fast, the holiday was very special. We want to thank everyone for all of the gifts that were sent with my parents! Jadyn loves everything. We are always amazed how much the Lord blesses.
If you haven’t heard already, we are now in Uganda! About a month ago, we wrote Teen Missions asking if the biggest need was still in Zambia, or if they had another need somewhere else. We have been praying about this for quite some time and just felt like our time in Zambia was drawing to a close. We received a phone call two days after the email asking if we were willing to go to Uganda. We said we were ready and willing but had to wait on Jadyn’s passport in order to travel.
We praise God that the paperwork, which normally takes months to process, only took a couple of weeks. In three days, we packed everything, sold some of our belongings and said our goodbyes. On Tuesday, February 7th, we left for the Teen Missions base in Uganda.
Jadyn was so good and has handled the transition well.
In Uganda there are eight Rescue Units and two different bases. We have only been here a week, but are truly enjoying the work and the friendships we have started. Eric is helping oversea the outside work as there are a lot of buildings to be built and projects to be completed. I am working on the finances for the base.
Eric and I want to thank you so much for all of your prayers. These last couple of months have been crazy busy and the only way we got through them was because of your prayers. The Kabawta family has so much to be thankful for as we start this new journey in Uganda. We appreciate everyone who has sacrificed their time in prayer and their finances in order for us to serve. We could not do this without you. Thank you so much for investing into the Kingdom of God.
Our prayer requests are for unity amongst the students and staff, wisdom as we make decisions, good health and an easy transition into these new roles as Mommy and Daddy.
We pray the Lord blesses you in a mighty way!
