Madagascar 12008

We have a fantastic team of 11 team members and four leaders. Everyone is excited that our head male leader is one of the coordinators at the TMI base in Madagascar. He is able to answer our many questions concerning the culture and what it will be like in Madagascar.

As a whole, the team is a bit quiet and shy, but they are rapidly increasing in their boldness, so they should be well prepared for evangelism as soon as we arrive. Everyone is getting to know one another and we are all enjoying our training classes. Their attitudes are great and no one seems to be complaining about anything, no matter how “challenging” the circumstances may be (wet tents, rain, mosquitoes, etc.).

Joel Harbin, Cassidy Clyde and Jane Young have all had the opportunity to spend an hour each in the Boot Camp “Prayer Tower” praying for all the team members serving the Lord this summer with Teen Missions. They also prayed for all of TMI’s bases around the world.

The evening rallies are everyone’s favorite time of the day—meal time is right up at the top also. By the way, you can watch the evening rallies by going on our web site. Our team is working hard towards winning the cleanest tent site in Boot Camp so we can go swimming in the pool.

Keep the letters and emails coming! We all enjoy a little news and encouragement from home! To all our families and friends, our team says, “Hi and we love you!”.

Hannah Parnell – Since I have been to Boot Camp, I have been amazed at how everyone is so friendly and nice. I have never been in a group this large where everyone is sharing smiles, hello’s, and high fives so enthusiastically! I have also been pushing myself to become more bold which will help me in when I teach and witness in Madagascar.

Cassidy Clyde – I’m so glad I came to the Lord’s Boot Camp! The classes and training are challenging, but so worth it! Everyone is so bold about their faith. It is really encouraging me to step it up in my faith.

This is for the Madagascar team #12008. I am a friend of Amy Reister and wanted all of you to know that our church is praying for you. We pray God will use you mightily to further His kingdom and give you boldness as you share the good news of Jesus Christ! Our son, Adam, went to Madagascar with TMI in 2005 and it was an amazing experience and changed his life forever. There will be some challenges, but remember that God is going before you, preparing the way. There is no better place to be than in the Center of His will. So, keep your eyes on Him! Blessings to you all!

  4. Way to go, Team Madagascar!!! Winning Godliness and Brainstorming! Go TEAM Go!!

  5. Jessica Parnell

It is so good to see the pictures and read the updates. Glad to hear that everyone is doing so well. We are rooting for you to get the cleanest tent site–you guys can do it!!

  6. Okay Beth, I can relate to the senior moment thing…lol. I can’t even imagine being in your shoes right now…so whatever happens is OK. We are praying for all of you. May God bless you and keep you safe…and sane.

  7. BTW…is the team #12009 or 120008? If it is 12009, then my email has been sent to the wrong address. Can you check on this, please.

  8. I’m so proud of you kids for stepping out in faith and trusting God to lead you to serve Him. I am praying for all of you and wish you the best. When it gets hard…and it will…remember you are where God wants you to be and He holds you in His hands. Remain faithful. Oh…BTW…you might want to work a little harder on the “winning the cleanest tent site in Boot Camp” thing…oink, oink…LOL.

  9. I am Jane Young’s grandmother and I am SO EXCITED to be able to follow Teen Missions on your website. I just found these update posts and I will continue to follow them. I am amazed at watching these teens in the Livestream webcasts. They look like they are enjoying themselves, but most importantly that they love the Lord and being in His service. May God bless each of you leaders, as well as the teens in this huge endeavor. Thank you for what you are doing.
