Madagascar Mission Trip

Looking for the adventure of a lifetime with a unique ministry? The Orphan Angels Team is moving to thecountry of Madagascar! Grab your helmet and Bible as you journey to Madagascar for an unforgettable summer. Following specialized training on motorcycle riding, bike maintenance and Sunday School at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to London, England via Miami.

You continue across Europe, the Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert to Nairobi, Kenya, before arriving in Antananarivo, the capital city. From Antananarivo, you bus 14 hours north, through the countryside, filled with valleys, hills and rivers to Teen Missions in Madagascar Bible, Missionary & Work Training Center near Mahajanga. Each day, you will ride from village to village and assist the Circuit Riders at the Sunday Schools. You will help with Sunday School lessons, phonics, quizzing and playing games with the children.

There will be opportunities to share the Gospel through puppets, drama and singing. The children are eager to have your attention and love, while the adults will be so grateful you came. Housing is in tents; bathing and laundry are done using a bucket. Before you leave, you will be able to barter for items including hammocks, vanilla, drums, baskets and jewelry. On your return back to the U.S., you will have an overnight in Nairobi and experience a safari as you drive through the Nairobi National Park.

Important information: Team members must be at least 16 years old and have a valid U. S. or Canada driver’s license.

  8. I hate to ask this because I’m sure it’s been answered, but is a provisionals license sufficient for this team? Where I live you have to be 18 in order to have a full license, so when I saw that the age limit was 16 and up I thought that maybe I had read something wrong. ZACH, THAT IS HARD TO ANSWER. ARE YOU ALLOWED TO DRIVE BY YOURSELF WITH THIS LICENSE? I THINK YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FULL LICENSE.

  9. hi im 16 and will have my liscenes by then, is there still room for a girl? and my mom wants to know how much supervision is there? • Hannah, Yes, but there are only a couple of spots left as we are limited in the number of bikes available for the team to use in Madagascar.

  19. Hi, I’m 16 and I have my liscense, but it’s a restricted. Meaning I can only drive during daylight hours, so it’s not fully a liscense… Does this count or does it need to be your full drivers liscense?

  20. Thank you! I am soooooo excited!!!

  21. Hi, I am signed up as a part of the Madagascar team. How many team members there are total?

  22. So, I am interested in this trip, however I would like to pray and think about it more. If i register now, does that mean that I am required to go or is it just expressing interest and a possibility?

    • Steven, There are only a couple of spots left on Madagascar. If you register (and submit the $30 registration fee), then you are registered. You can cancel at any time without penalty UP UNTIL the time of final ticketing. If you cancel after that time, you would be responsible for the cost of the airline tickets.

  23. Hi teen missions,
How many guys and girls are signed up. And is there still room.

  24. How much time will the team be spending at each village. Like will we go to a few each day, or spend a week at one and the next week at another?

Also, what will we be doing other than helping with Sunday school lessons, quizzing, and playing games with the kids?

    Thanks! 🙂

    • Annie, We are still working out the schedule and there can be variables even after the schedule is set (weather, etc.).

  25. What teams are full, and what teams don’t hanve positions open to girls at this point? When is the application deadline?

    • Nikki, Australia is full. Madagascar is close to being full along with Cameroon. Deadline is the beginning of June, but your choices will be VERY limited by then.

  30. Do you know how much available space is on this team so far?

  31. I want to go. But I’m turning 16 to June 20,2013 can I still to?

    ?

  32. Do we have to pay for a Visa or does the trip cost cover that?

  33. do we need a car liscense or a motorcycle liscense?

  34. This trip is realllly interesting to me! I know a couple of people who did this trip in Zambia and I am really praying about whether or not this is what God wants. One quick question… When we travel around to the different sunday schools, are they open to orphans all around or is it mainly a school for the local children who are not orphans? thanks – Hayley

  35. This trip seems really cool and I will be 16 before the team leaves, but South Carolina has laws to where I can drive by myself before I’m 16 but I can’t get my license until I’m 17. Would I still be able to go on this trip?
