Germany Camp 6/19 12007

We have all been praising God for the last few days of cooler, sunny, DRY weather! It is an encouragement to everyone when that happens.

The team continues to work well together and to bond as a team. They truly are a delight to us as leaders.

Yesterday (Sunday), we had a worship time under the Big Top. We had a time to be a blessing by giving to help ship shoes, clothes, blankets and medical ointment overseas to orphans. There was time to visit a miniature model of the OT Tabernacle and to see the Display Room at Teen Missions which introduced us to the many bases and ministries that Teen Missions has all over the world.

We continue to nurse sore feet and blisters, but have had no real sickness or injuries.

After today, we have only three more training days and only one more time running the Obstacle Course (OC). We will run the Water OC tomorrow and have KP on Thursday. On Friday, we will begin a two-day Missions Conference and on Sunday, June 24, we will be commissioned.

Thank you for your prayers! They are helping!

Michael Hartsfield – The Lord is showing me that I will go through ups and downs in my Christian life, but no matter what, God will help me through and make me stronger in my walk with God.

Brooke Vande Vegte – Coming here, my first thought was “What have I gotten myself in to?” I was feeling nervous and excited all at once. When my mom came to visit me that first night, I most definitely suggested that she should take me home! I am so glad she didn’t! It took a few days to adjust to everything around me, but instantly I found a new family in my team. We have grown so close in such a little time. God has used me in so many different ways to support my team and I am excited to love them as a family. I am ready to see the change the support we will have for each other as we go do the work God has called us to do this summer!

  1. Thank you so much for the update. I have heard from Luke that he is so thankful for the “cooler” weather of 88 degrees! Living in Florida year round, I can appreciate what he means.
We have been praying fervently for the entire team, Germany, and the lives that will be changed by those you encounter…and in the hearts of you and your team mates.
May God’s grace and protection surround the team!
Looking forward to coming up from South Florida for the commissioning ceremony. As Luke’s big sister attended TMI several times, we know it to be a very special event!

  2. Katie, and colleagues, I wish you safe travels and a fruitful ministry. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. See the world and do good works. Love, Rose Marie

  3. Glad to hear weather is cooler. I have been praying for just that. Thank you Lord! Katie looks good and so does the rest of the team. I leave for Ohio on our church mission trip on Sat. Wish I could be there on Sun night. Katie’s mom and little sis and brother will be there. I will be praying for the team. GO GERMANY in God’s Grace Love you Babe

  4. Ok! I just posted this as my facebook cover photo, so that I remember to pray for every single person by face when ever I see this!! God is going to use each of you for His Kingdom! I cannot wait to hear the stories when you all return!!

  5. Thank you for the update. It’s such a blessing to hear that the team is bonding and working together. Prayers for continued good health and safety for everyone. God bless you all!
