Greetings from Hong Kong! It’s been a great couple of days of sightseeing here in Hong Kong. Saturday we arrived at our hotel just before dinner. Our hotel is attached to a huge shopping mall with a food court, so we ate a quick dinner then walked about 20 blocks to the night market. It is just one really long street that is closed to traffic and opens each evening as the sellers set up their booths filling the road.
Sunday we slept in until 7:00am, then had a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel before heading out on the town. We visited an art museum and the walk of stars featuring Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. We ate lunch at McDonalds before getting on the ferry to cross the harbor over to Hong Kong Island. We rode a double-decker bus to the Stanley street market, rode another bus to the railway tram that we rode up to the highest peak that overlooks the city. We stayed for the light show at 8:00pm before taking another bus back down to the ferry. It was a long day, everyone is a bit tired, but it was so much fun to see Hong Kong.
Monday we will spend some time at the pool before heading off to the airport to catch our flight back to Los Angeles and then back to Orlando. There is a big storm off to our south that could be a big wind and rain maker, so hopefully we will be able to get out with no delays.
