This is our last web update as the team is gearing up to leave Canada. This morning we worshiped at Outlook Alliance Church, and made our final presentation to the kids there. We are planning one more swim this afternoon at the public pool as part of our Sabbath relaxation.
Yesterday the team represented Teen Missions in a parade in a nearby town (Macrorie) that was celebrating their 100th anniversary. The kids distributed fudge packets (given to us by a Teen Missions parent here in Canada), 2013 brochures, and a few other items. We also spent a couple of hours putting finishing touches on some projects. The mini-tabernacle is now up in the chapel, a good amount of pegboard now covers the walls of the Welcome Center, and the tool shed is cleaned & organized. The pictures are all from the work day yesterday. On Friday morning we made a 2nd appearance at the local farmers’ market, handing out the fudge packets to vendors & local business owners, and doing a presentation in town.
Tomorrow (Monday) is pack out, and is expected to be a full day of cleaning & moving. In the evening and then we leave to the airport for an early morning flight. The kids have been anticipating the days of debrief in Florida for a little while now.
What has God been teaching you this summer?
“Ever since I came here, it’s been real fun, and I’m very thankful that I could come here. I’ve learned lots of Bible verses. It has been a great experience.” –Josiah
“God has been teaching me to have faith and fear His power. He has power over us and He protects us from danger. God is always with us so we need to trust Him.” –Claire
