Bland, Bob & Bernie (Spring 2013)

Bland Staff Newsletter

Boot Camp 2013 is almost upon us with around 700 team members and leaders training to go to 34 countries around the world. To prepare, TMI staff are doing 1,000 hours of around-the-clock prayer in our newly-renovated display room. Bernie and I have our prayer hours at 10 AM and 11 AM. The 1,000 hours of continuous prayer runs from April 20-June 1. Please join us for the great outreach of these teams around the world.

TMI just purchased a new well-drilling rig to drill wells in remote villages in Africa where AIDS Orphans and Motorcycle Sunday School Missions are ministering. The rig is to be picked up May 6 and brought to Boot Camp where we will drill a well to irrigate the 42 vegetable garden plots that are 900 square feet each. These gardens will be used for missionary training for the BMW students. Bernie and I went to the factory in Phoenix, Alabama, for a demonstration and purchased the unit. Some concerned people donated $15,000 to purchase the rig. Please pray for customs clearance into Malawi and the $5,000 shipping charges.

I will be traveling to Greenfield, Ohio, June 13-15 for the General (National) Conference of the Christian Union churches. MSSM Circuit Riders band will also share at the conference on the MSSM ministry. The band will share at Second District Youth Rally on Saturday, June 15, Storms Chapel Christian Union on Sunday morning and join me at Mt. Tabor for the Sunday evening service. I will also be at Heritage Christian Union on Sunday morning. I plan on flying back to Boot Camp on Monday as Early Boot Camp is in progress and Super Boot Camp begins the next day.

Bland 2013Our big news of the family are our two granddaughters. Tara Brozman (Robin and Maxine’s daughter), is expecting a baby boy mid September. Catherine Noel (Cathy and Randy’s daughter) is marrying Brian Schultz in Grove City, PA, on August 3. Bernie and I plan to drive there for the wedding. I leave the next morning for Jakarta, Indonesia, Lord willing, to speak at the graduation of 130 students from our six Indonesian Bible Schools. During the next two days, I will meet with the Indonesian TMI board and speak at Calvary Church on Sunday. I will then fly to Borneo to visit our BMW at Sosok and on to Entikong, the latest BMW still under construction. I, along with three other staff, will train the first Indonesian MSSM Circuit Riders Missionaries who graduated from TMI Bible, Missionary & Work Training schools.

Following the week of training, I will go across into Kuching, Malaysia, and fly to Cambodia. While there, I will visit the base and BMW at Siem Reap and travel to the Boot Camp property in Kampong Chhnang. I am scheduled to return to PA and join up with Bernie in Ohio. By then, grandma is going to be chomping at the bit to get home and see our first great-grandchild.
