Hello parents and friends of the India team! Today is day six of training and the team is in the midst of their time of training at the Lord’s Boot Camp! Every morning we wake up at 5:30 AM and run the Obstacle Course (OC) and yesterday, David, Gabe, Hannah, Abby and Meleena made it over the 12-foot Wall! They continue to improve in working together as a team. Each day we are taking a variety of classes such as music, carpentry, evangelism, puppets and block laying – learning skills that will help us in our ministry in India.
For summertime in Florida, the weather has been very mild and nights are even chilly. The team is always drinking lots of water so that we stay hydrated. No matter what the circumstances, we always hear at least a few of the team members shout, “Praise the Lord!”.
This team is also very creative and won the “brainstorming” challenge which meant we got to swim in the pool on Tuesday during our free time. Throughout the day, the team is always trying to think of better ways to work together as a team so that we can be more effective in sharing the Gospel with those we will meet. Please continue to pray for us as we have nine more days of training in preparation for India!
Shelby – “When I got to the Lord’s Boot Camp with my parents and niece, I thought that this was going to be a lot of work, but at the same time, I was super excited. As you get farther into Boot Camp, you get blisters, you are home sick and you wonder why you ever came here. One day, during private devotions, the Lord gave me this in Jeremiah. The Lord spoke His Word to me saying, ‘Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you as a prophet for the nations.’ That was really comforting to me.
Micah – “I’ve really liked many things about the Lord’s Boot Camp so far. From the Obstacle Course to the rallies, there are a lot of things to enjoy. but I think the thing I like the most is the reasonable expectations it sets for teenagers in a culture that believes they are capable of so little. Thank you Mr. Bland!”
