We are now at the Windmill Center. The team members are fed and in rooms sleeping and very happy to have clean beds and showers a blessing after a very long day of travel. Departure from Orlando went smooth. International flight from PA was smooth sailing except for a late departure due to lightning and team did really well traveling through airports, with a few minutes here and there for impromptu musical performances between flights. We arrived slightly behind schedule in Glasgow this morning. After a long delay at immigration and border entry, we boarded the coach waiting for us for a gorgeous two hour drive thought the Scottish farm country. We were blessed to see several castles including Sterling. We arrived in Arbroath around 6:30 and were greeted by Murray and Ruth, the Windmill Center directors who fed us a hearty meal and made us feel welcome.
Please note that we had some problems at Immigration with some officials telling the team that they were required to have a “volunteer” visa. They have allowed us to enter the country temporarily. In the meantime, we are in contact with the local officials and others trying to get the situation resolved. We will notify you when a decision has been made. If the team needs to leave Scotland, back up plans are being made for them to travel to Dublin, Ireland to finish their project time working with Ireland Outreach.
