The Vanuatu team has arrived safely in Port Vila, the capital city of Vanuatu. We were greeted at the airport by Graham Buli, the brother of Silas Buli, who is the coordinator of our project. We will be spending the night at a local church which graciously extended their hospitality to us and welcomed us very warmly with leis for everyone. Tomorrow we continue our island-hopping journey to Pentecost Island, and the team is quite anxious to finally settle in after many long hours spent in airports and airplanes. The people here are extraordinarily friendly and appear genuinely interested in and excited about our mission here. We’ve already had the opportunity to share with multiple people, both in the airports and on the streets where the team members have gotten a chance to polish their evangelistic skills. The weather here is pleasant – overcast and in the 70s – and we’ve been told to anticipate a lot of rain. Pray that the Lord will grant us the strength for a final day of travel, that He will prepare the hearts of the people of Vanuatu for the Gospel, and that He will give the team boldness to proclaim His name. The internet situation on Pentecost Island is still unknown, details are sketchy at best. Reports may have to be called in to the main island where they will be typed and sent by Graham, but I’m not sure. I will be doing everything within my power to make certain they are sent in a timely fashion.
