The project is still well underway. Because we are adding the bathroom block to a preexisiting building, we have spent some time chiseling out every other brick going up each corner. Those who have not been chiseling bricks have been helping out around the base with various tasks. Leaders have arrived for Leader Seminar for the upcoming Boot Camp in Rumphi, and this means we will have extra hands to help raise this building when it comes to laying bricks. We are looking forward to getting to this part of the project! We will be building the foundation and walls, but will leave the pouring of the floor for a later date.
On Friday morning, Faith Widman shared the devotional during Chapel. She did a fantastic job!
The team joined the BMWs for weekend ministry on Saturday afternoon. They used puppets, songs, one-on-one conversations, and testimonies to share the gospel. During this outreach, over a hundred children professed to make a decision for Jesus Christ.
We walked about a mile into the bush on Sunday morning to attend Pentecostal Assembly, a small church with a thatched roof. The team gave a full presentation with puppets, songs, testimonies, and the gospel message. Faith Widman gave the message, Jessica Ziebell and Sierra Avila gave their testimonies, and the whole church of about fifty people erupted into cheers and applause when we presented a song with our puppets. They seemed blessed, and we were blessed to be with them.
Whether the clouds are covering the sun seems to make the difference between wearing a sweatshirt or sweating in short sleeves around here. The past few mornings have been particularly cold as a cloud front moved in, but on Sunday things seemed to warm up.
It is hard to believe that our team only has one week left at our project site. The days have flown by and many on our team have expressed surprise at how quickly our time is coming to an end.
