Smith, Loretta (Fall 2013)

Greetings to all my supporters in the Name of Jesus our Lord and Savior:

Well it’s been a busy time since last I wrote.  I’m going to add pictures to help you see what it is you are supporting with your prayers and finances. Right from the get go I want to thank you all for your prayers. My right foot is much better and my whole body is more relaxed and working well and I believe it’s due to your prayers. Finances are strong as He leads our team members in their support of this ministry that we are in together. Thank you so much for all the prayers and financial support.

Here’s the new update on what’s happened these last few months.

In the USA, Teen Missions teams ministered in Arizona, Indiana, Illinois, and Florida. They had over 180 first-time decisions of people giving their lives to Christ Jesus. In the world outreach teams, the reports just keep coming in with 100’s of salvation stories. But the best stories are the ones I got to hear from the team members themselves. God provided for these young ones in so many ways as they saw Him do miracles for them when things looked bleak. The kids are praising their Savior and some met Him for the first time in their lives. Saying “I’ll follow” and following are two different things. Most of our team members have made their decisions to follow, but never really have put their boots to the ground like they did this summer.

The pictures are from April and Boot Camp Big Top tents going up, moving up to Indiana to set-up the Tabernacle (which was blown down during set up), then I went to Ohio to help reset the fence line for that Tabernacle (second time it was blown down). With the Tabernacle set to go in Indiana, I came back to Florida the end of June to be a part of the summer base team, and the Lord opened doors for me to reinstate my Commercial Drivers License and get aP1010188 clean physical to drive our buses. At the end of July I was off to Indiana with a van and trailer to leave behind and trade out for a bus full of team members to bring back to Florida Debrief. For the next three weeks we held Debriefs for all the teams returning from the field. The main focus is about Coming Down from the Mountain.  They have served Jesus for the last two months and now they are headed back to the real world. We teach them how to stay strong in their faith, and how to continue to share Jesus with others in their family and community.

During Debrief we take the teams for a full day to Wet ‘N Wild and half a day at Cocoa Beach. The final night is a special banquet where the leaders serve their team members and then at 6 a.m. the next morning we drive the kids to Orlando airport for teary good-byes. For me driving a 55 passenger bus in airport traffic is a time of constant prayer for help and deliverance in the traffic….HA! Thank you Jesus I made all my runs without incident.

Now the teams have gone and the overseas staff have headed back to their countries and the USA staff are starting on their deputations till mid-September. As for me, I’ll stay working on base, as we have about three acres of land to prep for the Bible School students’ new Master Gardening class that starts September 5th taught by the University of Florida extension service. I’ll help facilitate the gardening. I hope to go to my mom’s on the 6th of September and then drive back through Georgia to Ft. P1010291Benning to see my grandson Ryan graduate out of the Army boot camp. That reminds me that I did go to Oregon for three days in June to see the same grandson graduate from high school with honors; God is good. I saw four of my grandchildren and stayed with my daughter Debbie at her new home.

I pray that the pictures will fill in the blanks for you and that the Lord blesses each of your lives as you bless me in our team efforts for His ministry here on earth. He is good and is coming soon, be prepared. He loves you….

Your sister and friend in Christ,

Loretta Smith
