Lane, Bob & Betty Newsletter (Winter 2014)

Lane Staff NewsletterDear Family & Friends,

6Betty and I thank the Lord for a blessed year we had in 2013 and we are looking forward to 2014. The words, “count your blessings, name them one by one”, from the old hymn are surely appropriate. Some of our recent blessings include: our family Thanksgiving at our grandson’s, our family’s reunion in Tampa, our family Christmas party at our house, the staff Christmas party with good food and fun fellowship, our 62nd Anniversary and the birth of our seventh great-grandchild, Gabrielle, a beautiful blond, blue-eyed girl. We also had the opportunity to visit the church where we met Jesus our Savior, see our dear friends in Tampa and visit our former pastor’s wife, Louise. Betty and I had a nice visit with our brother-in-law in Ocala. We are grateful that Robert, our oldest son, and his wife returned from Vietnam and for the time of fun we had with our great grandchildren, a raise in pay, and the chance to visit Bob’s cousin, Mildred, who is 94 and says she’s going to live to be 100. She took care of Bob when he was a baby. Blessings, just to mention a few.

Bob has been assigned to oversee the Central and South American bases. Betty is busy recruiting and placing team leaders on the 36 teams for 2014. There are over 400 team members and leaders signed up for the summer of 2014.

Bob will have to have surgery on his left ankle to replace a part. It is from an old injury of years past. He will be in a cast for 6-8 weeks.

Allow Betty and I to brag about our great grandchildren.

Thanks for your prayers. They mean a lot to us as God continues to use us in His ministry. Please continue to pray for health, safety at Teen Missions, travel overseas, and that we would remain faithful to our wonderful Savior, Jesus.

Love to all,

Bob & Betty Lane
