We are so excited to have begun our training here at the Lord’s Boot Camp in Merritt Island, FL. Today began early as the team woke up at 5:30 am and was running the Obstacle Course by 6:18am. All the team members made it to the wall and we were able to get several over it before time expired. We also began our training classes beginning with our training for teaching English in Korea, moving onto a puppet class, then learning how to mix concrete in concrete class, and concluding with a drama class. The team is super excited about our upcoming trip to both Mongolia and S. Korea and can’t wait to learn all the necessary skills we need to be on mission for Jesus overseas.
Elise Bunn: The Boot Camp is a lot harder than I thought, but God has been helping me mend everything together. I am really happy and surprised that I am not that grumpy or upset. Thinking about the upcoming trip really makes everything better!
Jordan Anderson: The few days I’ve spent at the Lord’s Boot Camp have already begun to shape and mold me into a different person. Being stripped of my everyday comforts has stretched me in ways I could never have foreseen. God has been teaching me through this experience to lose myself and seek Him on a deeper level. I genuinely love my team mates and have the utmost respect for my leaders, who are always pushing me to do better. I have witnessed the fire that TMI has for God and for spreading the Gospel, which is why I’ve decided to enroll in there Bible, Missionary, and Work School for this fall.
Caleb Lee: As many of you have heard Jacob’s ladder, from the Obstacle Course, has fallen. That day I saw this amazing group of teens band together. They were helping each other to get out, rushing over to get the injured moved and making sure that everyone was all right. God was with us that day and He is still with us now!
Brianna Rodriguez: Boot Camp has been a struggle, but through daily devotions I feel strengthened and refreshed. Proverbs 3:21-24 has edified me the past few days. It says:
My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight,
preserve sound judgment and discretion; 22 they will be life for you,
an ornament to grace your neck. 23 Then you will go on your way in safety,
and your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
It helps me to sleep. It’s only been 5 days, but I feel my faith in Christ has grown tremendously.
