South Africa — Teen Trip

First Boot Camp  June 6—July 26SouthAfrica

South Africa, a multi-cultural country on the southern tip of Africa, is a great place to make a difference this summer! After Commissioning, you will bus to the Miami International Airport for a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, via London, England. From the airport, you will travel one hour by bus to the Teen Missions in South Africa base where you will continue construction on the center for the Samaritan Ladies Ministry. The goal of this outreach is to share the truth of the Gospel with women who make their living on the street. Some of the women who have heard the Gospel, have come to Christ, but have no skills to earn a living for themselves and their children. The building will be used for vocational training such as computer skills, sewing, baking and jewelry-making, enabling these ladies to get off the streets. You will also work with vulnerable children on the weekends by teaching Sunday school lessons, phonics, Bible quizzing, crafts and playing games with them. Housing will be in dorms; showers are available. Laundry will be done using buckets. Enjoy a safari to Pilanesberg National Game Park, where you may see the African “Big Five”.  Shopping for handcrafted items such as wooden animal carvings, canes, brightly-colored clothing, baskets, dolls and beaded jewelry will help you remember your time in South Africa.

Project Expense: $4490 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

my daughter is interested in teen mission trip this summer and expressed interest in Africa, do you still have openings at this time, and she is 15 will we 16 this august, I don’t see age requirements on website and does a parent have to go with her?

    • Shanna, South Africa is available and we are ticketing on Friday. One half of the project expense is due upon registration since we are ticketing that team this week.

  2. I seriously want to do this trip, but I am actually from South-Africa. Whould it still be possible for me to join in on the trip? And whould it cost less?

    • Marlene, We have a base in South Africa and do the same thing. Please email our office for more information ([email protected]). If you want to join this team, you would have to come to the US for both training and Debrief.

  3. Hello! I am going on this team this summer, and I was just wondering if there are any specific shots that we have to have? Last time I went on a trip some of the other African teams had to have Malaria tablets, so I just wasn’t sure if that would be something we need for South Africa as well…… Thanks! 🙂

  4. David Dulaney: My son has some questions about missions, etc. Please help with what you can. His name is Eion.

Eion: hi i am desperate to go to africa and i feel like the lord has set it on my heart to go but my parents wont let me go with out them plus i am home schooled and i have no friends and i think it will be go for me to be around people my own age, so my question is can i go 2015 and what about parents

    • David, Most of the kids who come on our trips do not know anyone on their team. Your parents could go as leaders on the team. If they are interested, they can call the office and ask for the Leader Placement Department.
