First Boot Camp June 6—July 26
Serve the Lord this summer on the “Nature Isle of the Caribbean” in Dominica, one of the Lesser Antilles Islands! After completing your training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Miami and then across the Straits of Florida and Cuba to the Hewanorra International Airport on Saint Lucia. From the airport, a two hour bus ride takes you along the Caribbean Sea to Castries, Saint Lucia where you will board an inter-island ferry that takes you to Roseau, Dominica and onto Pointe Michel. Here you will renovate a small church that was built by a Teen Missions team in the 1970s and will be used for a community outreach center. You will be staying right across from the beach. You will have the opportunity to share the Gospel by using the skills you learned at Boot Camp in music, puppets, drama and testimonies with the children of the village. Housing will be in a building; showers are available. Laundry will be done using buckets. You will visit the Morne Trois Pitons National Park and see the Valley of Desolation, a region of boiling mud ponds and small geysers along with the Boiling Lake and the Emerald Pool. Shopping for souvenirs in the market will be a fun time of bartering before returning to Florida for Debrief.
Project Expense: $3490 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee
